This type of bar has some cooked food on a counter.

People can order the food whatver they want.

I recommend "Akebi" to try good Obanzai.

Hiroshima's Sake

Hiroshima was one of the biggest Sake producing prefecture in Japan.

Once Hiroshima produced the 3rd largest amount of Sake in Japan.

Famous Sake brewry brands are below.

Kamotsuru

Hakubotan

Ichidai

Ugonotsuki

Kirei

etc.

Why don't you try Sake if you stop by Hiroshima?



Fuchuyaki

Fuchuyaki is Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima. But, it's not a standard style of Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima.

This Okonomiyaki is from Fuchu-shi, a city located in west area of Hiroshima-prefecture.

We use thin sliced pork for Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki.

But, Fuchuyaki is baked with minced meat slowly.

So, it's very crispy when it's done.

Fuchuyaki is also recommended.

There are some Fuchuyaki restaurants in Hiroshima city.

Japanese Chiken Barbeque

Japanese Chiken Barbeque, "Yakitori", is very popular in Japan.

When we hang out with some people,

Yakitori restaurant is a very very good place to go.

Yakitori is like Japanese style Kabob.

Usually, you can order by 2pieces.

So, you are able to stop by when you are not that hungry.

I want to introduce this Yakitori Restaurant.

This place is about 5min from "Fukuromachi Tram Station."

Seseri

This is Neck part of chiken, tastes chewy and juicy.

Shirokimo

This is liver of chiken, juicy and soft with tasty sauce.

Teba (or Tebasaki)

Wing is very crispy outside but juicy inside.

Sasami

Sasami meat is very healthy and light taste.

Eating with Japanese pepper, Sansho, is recommended.

Hiroshima's traditional food "Okonomiyaki"

"Okonomiyaki" is a traditional food in Hiroshima.

Some people in Hiroshima say "Okonomiyaki is our soul food."

One of my friends described it "Okonomiyak is Japanese pizza." 

But,　I think "Okonomiyaki is more like Taco, especially Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima."

I strongly recommend trying Okonomiyaki if you visit Hiroshima.

I went to one Okonomiyaki restaurant "Kyo-chan."

You can try a lot of Hiroshima's food besides Okonomiyaki.

For example, oyster in Hiroshima is very famous and tastes good.

Also, there are various type of stir-fry you can try.

Pork, sprout, leek stired with egg.

Also, you can try local liquor (Sake and Shochu) with these menu.

If you stop by Hiroshima, you should try this place.
